The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance within a chemical manufacturing facility. The primary responsibility is to prevent interruptions in the manufacturing process due to equipment failure.


NOTE: This company has 2 openings. 1 on 2nd shift: 4pm - 12 am and 1 on 3rd shift: 12am - 8 am


Here are the key responsibilities and requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect facilities periodically to identify maintenance needs.
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate tasks to technicians.
  • Recruit, supervise, and train maintenance technicians.
  • Hire and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs, or maintenance (e.g., electricians, plumbers).
  • Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation, etc.).
  • Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
  • Participate in coordination of projects (e.g., renovations).
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.


Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a maintenance supervisor or in a similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, heating, etc.).
  • Familiarity with health and safety practices and regulations.
  • Budgeting and performance management skills.
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • High school diploma; a degree from a vocational school is a plus.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred
