Position Summary:
On behalf of our client, we are looking for an accomplished Director of Freight Sales to join their expanding team in Texas. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your hunter mentality and established book of business to drive significant sales growth in international freight, specifically in air and ocean logistics. A proven track record of achieving gross profit (GP) success is essential for this position, as you will be an individual contributor with strategic leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company objectives in international freight.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects in the air and ocean freight sectors.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, utilizing your transferable book of business to expand the customer base and increase market share.
- Present tailored solutions to meet customer needs and close sales effectively.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform and refine sales strategies.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- Track and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement and success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in sales within the international freight forwarding industry, with a strong focus on air and ocean logistics.
- Proven track record of achieving gross profit success and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong hunter mentality with a transferable book of business in the logistics sector.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and trends related to international freight forwarding.
