Erie Family Health Centers, a top workplace in Chicago and suburbs, is looking for a valuable addition to our Development team The Leadership Giving Manager plays a key role in driving philanthropic support for Erie’s mission and programs. The primary focus is to build relationships and secure contributions from individual donors and prospects who have the capacity to make mid to major gifts in the range of $2,500 to $24,000 annually. the Leadership Giving Manager will engage in and be responsible for all aspects of the donor development cycle, including donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of Erie’s programs, initiatives, and needs.
  • Create innovative, effective cultivation strategies and gift proposals.
  • Work with volunteer leaders and staff to identify donor prospects.
  • Work with the Development Operations Manager to conduct prospect research, qualify potential donors and create thorough prospect profiles.
  • In collaboration with the Annual Giving Manager, build a pipeline of current and prospective leadership level donors with the goal of increasing annual donations from existing donors and converting prospects to new supporters.
  • Assist with special events and other functions as needed.


Education:

Required

● BA or BS degree required


Experience:

Required:

● Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, including as a direct fundraiser working with individual donors.

Preferred:

● Experience working with donor databases, especially Raiser’s Edge a plus.

● Proven track record of cultivating and increasing donor support.

● Experience with prospect research.

● Knowledge of the healthcare sector.

● Knowledge of the Chicago philanthropic community and nonprofit sector.


Skills and Knowledge:

Required:

● Proven track record of securing mid- to major gifts and meeting fundraising targets.

● Experience building a portfolio, making asks, and closing individual gifts.

● Understanding of and commitment to professional fundraising ethical standards.

● Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in varied settings with diverse audiences.

● Excellent interpersonal skills.
