Provide guidance for existing as well as new processes and plant startup or new programs for technical aspects related to equipment and die/mold maintenance. Support the development of activities that will enhance team member growth as well as human resource development aspects that lead to a more confident team member. Support technical skills gap analysis to determine training needs of plant maintenance team members and work with plants to design/develop/implement training programs, which will fit, and support the unique team member plant environment utilizing PDCA.

II. Essential Job Functions:
A. On-site support of maintenance activities for production equipment & tooling aspects to provide a reliable production platform.
B. Audit predictive and preventive maintenance tasks in conjunction with the plant to ensure asset optimization of plant production equipment and facilities based on TB Global Standards.
C. Support Uptime activity and strategies for reliable centered maintenance kaizen.
D. Support equipment handover activity from PE to Manufacturing.
E. Reading technical drawings / blue prints, mechanical & electrical as required.
F. Using measuring tools and gages.
G. Work with the Engineering department to improve processes.
H. Support with internal changes or modifications to existing equipment for process Kaizen.
I. Provide training to plant personnel after completion of machine and installation at plant.
J. Maintain a positive working relationship with all TBAGC's, and all other TBA support groups.
K. Suggest activities to ensure TBAGC's maintenance team members are educated, trained, and developed to maximize their skill set.
L. Support the Maintenance Technical Skills Training Center trainers in skill development topics based on Genba observations.
M. Research outside consultants/service for specialized training needs and present to management proposals and ideas for skill development kaizen.
N. Consult frequently with TBJ Global Maintenance Department for communication and support.
O. Follow safety, quality, confidentiality, and information security policies and procedures.

III. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Industrial Maintenance Associates degree required.
• Machinist 1 certificate/diploma or equivalent required.
• Tool and Die certificate/diploma or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience:
• Safety knowledge and implementation of Lock Out Tag Out.
• 2-5 years Robotics knowledge, Electrical troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting, Pneumatics knowledge Hydraulics knowledge, Mechanical knowledge.
• Utilization of basic hand tools and maintenance shop equipment required.
• 2-5 years Tooling, Machining experience required.
• 2-5 years CAD, CNC programming a plus.
• Stamping die & injection molding knowledge and repair experience a plus.
• Welding and fabrication a plus.
• Experience using an overhead crane a plus.
• Experience with Automation a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing settings preferred.
• Experience at an Automotive OEM and/or Tier 1 supplier to Japanese automaker helpful.

Personal/Technical Skills:
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents for production environments such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic understanding of TPS (Toyota Production System).

• As unique situations present themselves, must maintain attention and sensitivity to Toyota Boshoku America's (TBA) needs, team member goodwill, and the public image.
• Thorough understanding and working knowledge of TBA's automotive plants and processes/principles, company products, and manufacturing processes is a plus.
(All of these skills are preferred or will be trained)

Language Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Japanese, Spanish, and Portuguese would be helpful.

Computer/Software:
• Solid working knowledge of, and experience with, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS word, MS Outlook preferred.
• Plant Engineering (PE) related Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) software.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Other technical related software based on technical requirements as needed.

Training Requirements:
Must be willing to successfully complete and use training for items below:
• New process and equipment technology that will be introduced and implemented at TBAGC's.
• Machines, tools, tooling, equipment, and other motorized or maintenance related equipment (e.g., AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots), cranes, lift trucks, etc.).
• Cross training for leading other plant support departments.

IV. Work Environment/Conditions:

Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
Plant: Various types of manufacturing environments.
• Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level.
• PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
• Involves moderate or occasional presence of some slightly disagreeable conditions, i.e., cold, dust, heat, odor, etc.
Travel: Minimal (Able to travel to Japan for training and benchmark activities-Able to travel to other TBA facilities for training and benchmark activities and support of repair and kaizen to manufacturing processes.)

V. Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, and see (with visual acuity). Performance requires mental alertness and sustained attention to needs of the department in terms of workflow, efficiency of operation, machine adjustment, and team member output. Performance requires physical ability to inspect, adjust, and operate equipment. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time throughout plant. Occasionally climbing, stooping, or bending on, under, or near tooling and equipment. May be occasionally required to reach, grasp, and manipulate parts, materials, or equipment. May be occasionally required to lift up to 30-50 pounds (with or without assistance). The ability to travel by automobile and airplane are both required.
