General duties include disinfection, sterilization, re-circulation, and maintenance of our sterilization rooms. Our Sterilization Team works collaboratively to ensure OSHA and CDC standards are met and maintained. Additionally, our Sterilization Technicians are problem solvers, often troubleshooting or calling for service when machines and equipment need to be repaired.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collecting used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination.Manually cleaning supplies of contaminants, removing waste matter, and operating and maintaining decontamination equipment.Preparing and packing decontaminated supplies for sterilization.Monitoring and operating sterilization equipment.Examining supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized.Testing and reporting any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment.Sterilizing, preparing, wrapping, and organizing equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsRequired Skills & Abilities: CPR certification to ensure readiness in emergency situations.Radiology certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, ensuring proficiency in capturing diagnostic images.
