Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for processing orders, working collaboratively with our team, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy work area and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Comply with all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Interact effectively with patients, practitioners, and others, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Perform duties in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices, including as directed and appropriate.
- Contact patients regarding medical information, prescriptions, and refills, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Input patient and prescription information under the supervision and checking of a pharmacist, in compliance with state pharmacy law.
- Create and/or print documents such as master formulation records, compounding records, labels, and shipping documents, subject to pharmacist supervision and checking.
- Perform sterile compounding duties in compliance with USP 797 and non-sterile compounding duties in compliance with USP 795.
- Compound preparations accurately and efficiently, ensuring high-quality products.
- Clean and maintain the compounding environment and equipment, adhering to strict quality control standards.
- Check the records or compounded products of others, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare completed products for dispensing or shipment, meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
- Certified technician in good standing in the state in which the pharmacy is located.
- Experience with compounding and shipping.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and communicate effectively with the general public.
- Mathematical skills to work with concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
Our pharmacy operates in a climate-controlled office environment with limited exposure to potentially hazardous substances. The physical demands of this role include standing for prolonged periods and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
