Sr. Accountant

One Federal Solution is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant with experience in working in Unanet ERP to support the finance department. Responsibilities will include working with accounts payable/ receivables, payroll, as well as assisting with reconciliations, journal entries, preparation of reports, and maintaining electronic files.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintaining accounts receivable, document bills, and supporting documentation
Maintaining accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of invoices, confirming validity of the debt, and gathering appropriate signatures
Review accounts payable batches for proper general ledger coding and adherence to company policies
Experienced in performing and successfully performing all tasks associated with managing company payrolls
Reconcile accounts payable and related general ledger accounts monthly.
Complete quarter-end schedules as assigned
Set priorities, organize, and accomplish tasks within defined deadlines
Possess ability to calculate, post, and manage vendor account and financial records
Research issues for vendors and associates
Reconcile vendor statements
Prepare financial statements and close accounting periods: tasks related to closing the books, preparing financial statements, and reconciling accounts.
Manage complex financial transactions: booking cash transactions, assisting with research on complex transactions, and working with project teams on budgets.
Support accounting processes and reporting: developing and documenting accounting procedures, researching accounting topics, and creating reports.
Provide backup to as needed with the processing of recurring check/ACH/wire payment runs for AP disbursements
Other duties

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in similar roles; experience in gov con a plus
Knowledgeable of Unanet Financial Management System
Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
Comfortable in a fast-paced, results oriented and hands on environment
Detail oriented and highly organized
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and handle simultaneous assignments under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
Analytical mind and critical thinker
