Jamestown Container, one of the largest independent manufacturers of corrugated products and distributor of packaging supplies in the northeastern United States, is looking to add a Marketing Manager to its team. This position will support the entire Company but has the flexibility to work from any of our primary locations including Rochester, Falconer (Jamestown), Buffalo or Cleveland (Macedonia) Ohio.


Founded in 1956, Jamestown Container Companies is a privately owned company that has earned a reputation as an innovative provider of high-quality corrugated products, consumer point of purchase displays, packaging supplies and fulfillment services for customers in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and southern Ontario. Our customers include many well-known local companies, as well as Fortune 100 companies.

 

The Marketing Manager’s main responsibility is to strengthen Jamestown Container Corporation's brand recognition across our target market segments while identifying new marketing opportunities to drive sales growth. This role also involves tracking, analyzing, and communicating critical marketing and sales data to Regional Sales and Senior Management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the company's marketing vision, with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, the following:


Strategic Brand Development: Lead the creation and execution of the annual corporate marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals. Define clear objectives and budget requirements while managing key marketing initiatives such as web-based marketing, direct mail, advertisements, email campaigns, website management, industry association involvement, trade shows, sponsorships, social media, and promotional materials. Continuously improve and evolve the company’s brand strategy to ensure it remains competitive, relevant, and consistent across all platforms, products and services, and market segments.


Budget Management: Monitor and manage all marketing-related expenses to ensure adherence to the approved budget. Adjust strategies as needed to stay within financial parameters and maximize return on investment.


Vendor and Agency Relationships: Manage and foster strong relationships with external vendors, agencies, and service providers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality marketing services, including creative development, digital marketing, and other key initiatives. Cultivate partnerships with vendors that align with our brand values and have the expertise to help elevate our marketing efforts.

 

Sales Collaboration & Support: Collaborate closely with Sales Management to maintain up-to-date, comprehensive sales training and marketing materials that support growth. Analyze and communicate sales and marketing data across all regions and business segments to drive informed decision-making and measurable results. Develop key account profiles, generate prospect lists using tools like Data Axel Genie, and maintain a comprehensive lead generation system. Additionally, implement strategies to nurture leads through the sales funnel, optimizing conversion rates to directly contribute to increased sales performance.


Content Strategy: Take responsibility for the creation and management of content across all channels, including websites, blogs, social media, and publications. Ensure that all content aligns with the brand voice and supports overall marketing goals, driving engagement and reinforcing the company’s message.

 

Sponsorship and Event Management: Oversee and manage all sponsorship opportunities, event registrations, and donations, ensuring proper tracking and execution. Additionally, coordinate the purchasing of appropriate branded items to maintain brand consistency and monitor expenses for promotional apparel, customer gifts, and employee handouts.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
