Job Summary:

The Area Director will be responsible for the overall management of operations of the four Englewood Club Sites. The primary emphasis will be on program and service delivery to members, strategic plan implementation, outcome measurement, staff supervision, facilities management, partnership development, community relations and resource/budget management. The Area Director will report to the Senior Vice President.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for youth and staff through facility management.
  • Manage Club financial resources and assist in the development of program budgets.
  • Implement diverse youth development programming at the Club to achieve targeted youth development outcomes, consistent with organizational plans and goals.
  • Effectively implement and deliver of programs to Club members.
  • Regularly demonstrate impact by measuring targets of performance, monitoring progress and reporting results within deadlines.
  • Recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff to achieve Club and program objectives, while encouraging regular member attendance.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with parents, community organizations and leaders to maximize program impact.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Will implement special projects and activities, which may result in some late evenings and weekends.
  2. Participate in the required operational functions of ULBGC special event fundraisers.
  3. May be assigned other duties as requested by supervisor.


Relationships:

Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; and advise/counsel. Live and exemplify Union League Boys & Girls Clubs Core Values: Commitment, Integrity, Dynamic, Accountability, and Teamwork.

External: Maintain contact/work closely and effectively with Senior Staff, other Clubs, vendors, consultants, organizations, government agencies and others to achieve program goals and objectives, manage costs, share information and resolve problems.

Requirements
  • BA or BS Degree in related field from accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in Boys & Girls Clubs or similar organization, planning and supervising comprehensive out of school times programs.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Membership Tracking.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record and consistent access to a motor vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
