The Sonnenalp is looking to hire a General Manager for the Sonnenalp Club. This position will be open until October 31st, 2024.

Primary Purpose of Position

The Club Assistant General Manager (AGM) will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the Sonnenalp Club, focusing on delivering outstanding guest service across all departments. The AGM will report to the Director of Operations to effectively manage all departments. The AGM will lead and inspire a team of professionals to provide top-tier experiences in golf, dining, and membership services. This role requires a seasoned hospitality professional with a proven track record in luxury or high-end service environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Service Excellence:

  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service, setting high standards for all staff, and ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all members and guests.
  • Evaluate service through use of regular member satisfaction surveys and secret shop reviews
  • Monitor and address member feedback, proactively resolving any issues to ensure complete satisfaction and fostering a sense of community and loyalty among members.

Golf Operations:

  • Oversee all aspects of golf operations, including course maintenance, scheduling, events, and pro shop management, ensuring a superior golfing experience.

Food & Beverage:

  • Oversee all food and beverage operations, including Harvest restaurant services, special events/banquets, pool and food truck operations, maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Maintain a presence within the restaurant to ensure proper service and interact regularly with membership.

Membership Services:

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain members, enhance member engagement, and ensure personalized service tailored to individual member preferences.
  • Ensure proactive management of membership sales program to ensure sold out levels at all times.
  • Active involvement in running regular membership board committee meetings and following up on any outstanding items.

Facility Management

  • Ensure high level of cleanliness and overall working order of property through close oversight of maintenance and housekeeping team
  • Ensure preventative maintenance program is adhered to regularly
  • Regularly walk the property, perform facility inspections and hold all departments accountable to these standards

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Directly supervise F&B Director, Golf Director and Membership Manager.
  • Represent the club on the SLT (Sonnenalp Leadership Team).
  • Facilitate weekly manager’s meeting and labor meeting.
  • Ensure effective communication across all departments.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-effective measures while maintaining high-quality services and facilities.
  • Regularly report on financial progress throughout the property.

Community:

  • Lead board meetings and interact with Singletree community members on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all club operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role within the luxury hospitality industry, preferably in a high-end hotel, resort, or exclusive club setting.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest service and enhance member satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of golf operations and food & beverage management is highly desirable.

Special Skills/Equipment

  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, web-based systems and POS systems required
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the club and its members.
  • Ability to travel on occasion or as needed
  • Schedule requires a minimum of 40 hours per week year round, but job duties may require more at times of peak business load
  • Days of the week may vary depending on the season (May-September) and (October – April)

Compensation

  • $110-165K annual
  • SLT Bonus Plan (20% of salary potential)
  • Deferred Compensation Plan
