Responsibilities
Recommending, developing, and managing the database strategy to be used with the system being developed.
Research and apply common data base best practices and design patterns, gather, assess and translate user requirements into a logical database design.
Work with developers to locate and manage external APIs, create and manage validation techniques and ensure data integrity.
Perform disaster recovery.
Develop and provide common living documentation deliverables to include Entity Relationship Diagrams and Data Dictionaries.
Qualifications
Required Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with several common relational databases including SQLite and PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with common database best practices and design patterns including First Normal Form (1NF)
• Common living documentation deliverables including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD) and Data Dictionaries
• Understanding of layer-oriented design and the presentation layer (SQLAlchemy)
• Ability to crate manage data validation techniques to ensure data integrity
• Disaster recovery
Required Soft Skills:
• Ability to gather, assess and understand user requirements and translate them into logical database design
• Willingness to work closely with developers to locate and manage data and develop external APIs
