Job Title: Database Engineer

Job Summary:

Abacus is seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex SQL Server based infrastructure and database solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implementation of highly available and scalable, single and multi-tenant SQL Server environments.
  • Migration of existing databases or instances from legacy infrastructure into newly established virtual environments.
  • Developing procedures, documentation, training, and execution of knowledge transfer to at least two other staff for all developed and maintained systems within the SQL Server, OnBase, and Dynamics environments.
  • Providing analytics regarding system health, growth capacity, and other metrics of benefit to Abacus and our customers.
  • Analysis of complex queries and execution plans for the determination of need regarding the maintenance of indices to provide optimal performance for various use-cases.
  • Use and instruction in the SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, and Google Looker Studio to develop specialized reports both for our customers and for internal reporting.
  • Use and instruction in the SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Data Factories, Biztalk, and other such tools to migrate and transform data through complex ETL.
  • Maintain and enhance ASP.NET and ColdFusion applications leveraging database systems supported by the Engineer, when necessary, alongside other project development team members.

Requirements:

  • At least five years (5) experience in the following applied knowledge and skill sets:

  • Microsoft PowerShell 4.0 or greater
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, 2013, and Dynamics 365
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013, 2016 and 2018
  • Microsoft Biztalk Server
  • Hyland OnBase
  • Ademero Content Central
  • IBM Data Studio 4.1
  • Google Workspace
  • Google Sheets

  • Google Looker Studio

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field.
