Volt has immediate openings for Mechanical Assemblers in Hillsboro Oregon.
Qualified candidates must be mechanically inclined and have experience using power tools, be a self-starter, and willing to help where needed. This company offers a great work environment with a supportive atmosphere and free beverages.
Major Duties and Tasks for Mechanical Assembly:
  • Follow and perform routine mechanical assembly as outlined in the assembly instruction build map with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to complete the required training certification for assembly.
  • Comply with documented process requirements for assembly.
  • Always maintain a clean and orderly work area as defined by 6S practices.
  • Meet Assembly productivity and quality goals as specified by process area.
  • Comply with all safety and ESD practices and policy.
  • Learn and utilize basic desktop productivity (e.g. Excel spreadsheets) and web-based production tools.

Job Requirements:
  • Proficient in using e-mail for giving and receiving information.
  • Ability to apply good judgment in moderate level of problem-solving situations.
  • Intermediate level computer skills, including the ability to document and navigate in and out of multiple programs.
  • Must be efficient in usage of web-based shop tools with accurate data entry.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with management and other Co-Workers.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings.
  • High School graduate or GED.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for the entirety of shift, as well as performing repetitive bending, kneeling, turning, and lifting to perform daily assembly tasks.
  • Ability to lift to 40 lbs. as well as pushing/pulling carts that can weigh up to 550 lbs.
  • Able to lift and / or place material that weighs up to 40 lbs. on a workbench, cart, or in a system. Lifting height includes knee level and up to chest level.
  • Ability to use multiple hand and pneumatic tools in the assembly process.

This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.
Shift: Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:00pm.
Pay Rate: $22.00-24.00/hr.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
