Position Summary: The Food and Nutrition Associate will provide routine food preparation and patient assistance services in a variety of assigned eating area(s), meal service, catering or events.Minimum Qualifications:RequiredPreferredHigh School Diploma or EquivalentServSafe CertificationEssential Job Functions:In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.Prepares and serves drinks and foods according to patient specifications, including therapeutic diet orders, patient safety modifications and proper patient identificationRecords patients 'Intakes' including nutrient specific intakes accurately per established procedures.Provides menu information and explanations of ingredients and preparation methods as assigned.Assists with food preparation as directed, operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks.Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes work stations.Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers and returns to appropriate location in the kitchen area.Refills condiments or other food and supplies.Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.Performs other related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all timesAbility to work in a busy and stressful environmentAbility to work varied shiftsDetail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritizePhysical RequirementsLifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Lift 30 pounds of weight (pick up supplies, move equipment, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies.Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shiftsOn-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needsEffective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologiesHandling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients, families, or employeesRepetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities ExposuresTasks Include Potential Exposure: Job tasks may involve exposure to:Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performedVarious chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings.
