Job Summary

Lead quality engineering efforts for internal quality improvements such as the reduction of non-quality cost and improvement of RFT performance. Develops, improves, and manages all electrical and mechanical test procedures for the company’s manufacturing operations. Ensures products comply with current regulations and promotes a culture of continuous improvement by proposing solutions.


Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Creates and monitors test protocols for electrical and mechanical testing, including hipot (high potential), recording of product test data, and identification of electrical and mechanical product defects
  • Electrical controller testing, including validation of controller programming
  • Defines, procures or designs, and implements equipment to ensure electrical and mechanical performance of products in the field
  • Identifies, develops, and drives product improvement projects to achieve measurable improvements in quality
  • Studies new solutions with existing systems or with new technologies/products
  • Tests and validates solutions and creates related documentation and training for the quality department and affected team members
  • Promotes a quality culture by sharing best practices
  • Coordinates with the quality team to ensure quality control plans are followed, standard procedure records are completed, and non-conformities are analyzed
  • Collaborates with production and other cross-functional teams to identify new solutions to improve product
  • Identifies potential issues to improve quality and leads efforts to determine RC/CA (Root Cause/Corrective Action)


Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills

Required:

  • College degree in a related field such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or another related degree, and 2 or more years of relevant experience or an alternate degree unrelated to electrical or mechanical engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Must be able to create testing processes and programs for controllers and instruments, complex electrical systems, and mechanical pressure and strength tests
  • Basic computer skills, including SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
  • Possesses a working knowledge of products, tools, methods, and concepts of Quality Assurance

  • Extensive work on a computer, sitting at a desk, on a production floor, and on company properties
