Seasonal 1st Shift position will be for up to six (6) months per year and provides Sparton with the ability to adjust for peak demand and provide 1st Shift Production/Assembly employees flexible employment. Position Objective Perform routine and/or repetitive operations in a flexible manufacturing environment in accordance with standardized processes, procedures, or methods. This position may require frequent movement throughout the manufacturing operation. Primary Responsibilities Mechanical and/or electrical operations or assemblies involving fixed indicating meters, in-circuit test/functional test, marking machines, jigs & fixtures, packaging equipment, wire cutting, stripping & twisting equipment, various types of fastening devices involving power operations, hand tools and gauges (fixed, micrometers, calipers, rules). May assemble and/or repair printed wiring assemblies (PWA), subassemblies, instruments, and final assemblies of various components utilizing a wide range of tools, work processes and skills to approved documented procedures/specifications. May be required to handle, mix, and test hazardous chemicals. May perform inspection tasks. May kit and pack printed wiring board assemblies. Initiate and maintain accurate paperwork and records as required by job. Responsible for daily clean-up of all assigned work areas. May interact with computer to enter/extract data. Chemical handlers will be using the flammable cabinets supply to support the lines. All other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED Required Qualifications Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions. Ability to add/subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals using direct reading, gauges, rulers, and scales. May be required to lift 55 lbs. as required by job task. Successful completion of 1-hour onsite Post Offer Employment Test Supervisory Responsibilities None Travel Requirement None Safety Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with applicable Federal, State, Provincial and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, utilize proper personal protective equipment. Physical Demands The physical demands describe here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a professional office environment and a manufacturing environment. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the plant. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and communicate, use hands/finger, feel, and reach with arms. This position requires the ability to lift, bend or stoop as necessary up to 50 lbs.
