Assume responsibility for successful accomplishment of annual corporate business plans in the assigned region. Develop, communicate, and monitor sales production, attrition, and service goals on regional and divisional level. Provide direct support to recruiting, selection, and training of direct sales and service staff. Administer direct sales employee and service incentive plans. Evaluate all aspects of division sales manager and regional service manager performance and provide sales and service policy, procedure, and employee performance guidance. Act as a liaison with Home Office functions to make technical recommendations and resolve issues. Expand group sales and special accounts market penetration. Support annual budget and corresponding territory management plans. Supervisor responsibilities to include staffing, training and development, performance management, and workforce planning. Primary Job Responsibilities Supervisor/Manager responsibilities may include all the following: Staffing needs, to include interviewing and onboarding for new employees. Training and development, as well as coaching and motivation for staff. Performance management, goal setting, employee engagement, and salary administration. Workforce management to include unit equipment, software, and space needs, approving time off, overtime usage, and budget recommendations. Assist direct reports in developing annual new business premium projections and attrition forecast percentage. Analyze marketplace trends that impact and justify production, price, product, service, and business retention numbers. Monitor division goals and assist in achieving all production, sales, and attrition goals. Develop a territory management plan to maximize goal attainment, meet service requirements, and control expenses. Resolve problems or concerns that negatively impact goal attainment. Administer sales and service incentive programs. Make recommendations to improve programs as needed. Match sales and service incentive programs to desired sales, service, and attrition goals and objectives. Evaluate direct report performance and perform salary administration. Analyze trends and make recommendations to correct errors in policy and procedure or technical/sales knowledge/actions. Work to bring about consistency within and across regions. Make recommendations regarding expense control and staffing levels to adhere to budget constraints. Handle projects as assigned. Qualifications A minimum of five years of management experience in commercial lines property and casualty insurance sales preferred. Individual commercial lines property and casualty sales experience desirable. Direct writer or captive agent experience desirable. Bachelor's degree preferred. Insurance education leading toward a CPCU, CIC, or other relevant insurance designation preferred. Thorough understanding of the principles of profitable property and casualty insurance operations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Excellent property and casualty multi-line product knowledge. Demonstrated knowledge of insurance-related underwriting, policy issuance and billing policies, procedures, and supporting workflows. Work Environment Extensive travel is required.
