Russell Tobin's client is hiring an HR Payroll Coordinator in Dallas, TX

Employment Type: Contract

Location: Onsite Dallas, TX 75234

Pay rate: $25-$28/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Processes and supports all wage garnishments.
  • Assists with processing, balancing, and transmitting payrolls to and from ADP for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly disbursements across the U.S. and Canada for 40,000 employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • Handles processes such as new hires, STD, wage assignments, relocation, expatriate compensation, additional pay, bonuses, commissions, direct deposits, pay cards, and final pay for terminations.
  • Ensures automated timekeeping hours files are processed and balanced.
  • Calculates and creates out-of-sequence pay entries for corrections.
  • Manages tax and GL processes for accurate reporting to ADP and Accounting, troubleshooting errors for resolution.
  • Frequently interacts with various departments.
  • Assists with payroll, tax, and benefit reconciliations and audits.
  • Creates, tracks, and resolves service requests with third-party payroll providers.
  • Supports training needs for incoming payroll staff.
  • Identifies critical pay tickets to determine the need for on-demand pay cards/checks and processes emergency payments.
  • Addresses incoming inquiries from the ticketing system, employees, stakeholders, or regulatory agencies and escalates internally as needed.
  • Stays informed on payroll and HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to applicable state, local, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Follows prescribed procedures and workflow.
  • Generates employee pay detail reports as needed for HR, Legal, and Compliance requests.
  • Provides excellent customer service to employees and coworkers.
  • Performs general clerical duties related to payroll, including handling incoming mail.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 3+ years of payroll experience.
  • Experience in wage garnishment processing.
  • Proficiency in reporting, data analysis, or payroll reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll impacts on payroll tax and accounting.
  • Ability to create and modify reports using GlobalView reports.
  • Experience in multi-state payroll processing in a fast-paced, large-volume environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Trustworthiness with confidential information.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to and drive change.
  • Confident in engaging in various communication modes with strong active listening skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) from the American Payroll Association (APA).
