Warehouse Area Supervisor

As a Warehouse Area Supervisor at Yardbird, you’ll be responsible for providing support and oversight to an area and working alongside your team to ensure the goals of the day are met. This role will also work closely with other Area Managers and leaders of the warehouse to assist other departments when need and help ensure the safety of all employees.

What you’ll do
  • Work most of the time on the floor with your teams
  • Identify issues or areas for improvement in process and find resolutions
  • Identify discrepancies on pick lists and report them to the necessary teams
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to help mitigate errors
  • Create and control standard operating procedures for future hires and retraining
  • Ensure proper staff is available to maintain daily inventory output.
  • Responsible for leading a team to provide clear deliverables and expectations

Basic qualifications
  • Able to stay on your feet for the entire shift
  • Able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds
  • Able to lift boxes ranging from 200-300 pounds as part of a team
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings or weekend hours, during our peak season (March-August)
  • 1 year experience in distribution, operations, warehousing, customer service or related field

Preferred qualifications
  • Previous warehouse supervisor/lead experience
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Effective communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, platform trucks and other necessary warehouse equipment
