Some of the activities for this position are listed below:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.Review construction documents and understand scope of work to bid.Obtain pricing for materials.Inform the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.Prepare both plan/spec and design/build estimates and proposals. The preparation of the estimate includes plumbing and medical gas take off, soliciting prices for equipment and subcontractors, and preparing a detailed written proposal explaining the scope of work, project clarifications and any exclusions.Operate and maintain company computerized estimating system.Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct project site inspections to verify conditions affecting the pricing and installation of the project.Attend turnover meetings to communicate the unique aspects of the project to the installation team.Prepare estimates for change order work for ongoing projects when requested.Use Quick-pen, TSI & Revit software to do takeoffs on drawings for plumbing and medical gas systems.Project setup/maintenance for BIM/design/estimating.Download files from FTP sites for estimating, CAD, project managers.Maintain up to date working and technical knowledge of all procedural and improvement changes to estimating computer hardware and software applications.May perform field site evaluations when conditions required.Minimum Qualifications:At least 3 years of experience in estimating.Ability to read and understand technical specifications, construction plans, and contract requirementsBroad understanding of plumbing and medical gas construction systems.Skills in MS Office, Quick-pen, AutoCAD, REVIT, and FTP Sites or willing to be trained on all of these.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to handle confidential information.Must be organized and able to prioritize tasks.Willingness to travel to local job sites.Notice to prospective employees: There have been fraudulent postings and emails regarding job openings.
