What will you do? + Provide communication and direction to crew members + Implement and perform steps to complete jobs in a timely manner + Performing duties of operator and/or laborer + Operate construction equipment such as a dump truck and skid loader + Setting daily production goals + Conducting daily walk-throughs + Ensuring DOT documentation + Monitoring and adhering to all safety processes and procedures + Conducting weekly tool box talks + Maintaining and submitting required reporting + Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic + Other Duties as assigned **Qualifications** + Previous experience in a similar position with a focus on crew leadership is required + Experience in Telecommunications is preferred, but not required + Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities + Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to give descriptive and respectful direction + Must be able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities + Must have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills + Must be very safety conscientious + Must be able to effectively communicate with crew, customers and vendors + Basic computer skills required, experience with Google apps a plus + A valid drivers license required with a good driving record is required + Unrestricted Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement is a plus (Higher wage scale apply to CDL holders) + May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as needed to ensure work is completed + **Extended travel is required throughout the Telcom footprint** Physical Requirements: + Climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects + Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistance + Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
