Summary Description
Pursues business in markets that complement our overall services, focusing on end-user relationships and recurring service revenue models. Serves as a customer liaison and pursues system expansions and post installation service work on newly developed business.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M and customer safety policies and procedures
- Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company
- Pursues new business in vertical markets that complement our company-wide service offerings.
- Performs proper pre-qualification of new business pursuing "true" opportunities.
- Navigates new business opportunities through relationship building and social activities.
- Locates key decision makers within targeted organizations and establishes relationships.
- Maintains close relationship with all respective clientele. Documents and pursues all potential capital projects within targeted clientele.
- Conducts tactful follow up procedures and understands how to (close) open opportunities.
- Searches for cross selling opportunities and up-sells our organization whenever possible.
- Maintains an up-to-date sales pipeline report and reviews with supervisor on a bi-weekly basis.
- Conducts site surveys and attends pre-bid meetings as needed and assists in design development.
- Prepares material/labor cost estimates for budgetary estimating purposes.
- Works closely with estimating/engineering team ensuring a thorough, accurate design is prepared for all proposed work.
- Prepares formal, professionally written proposals as needed.
- Conducts formal follow ups on all installations ensuring customer satisfaction and additional service opportunities are captured.
- Maintains knowledge of latest technological trends ensuring the use of high-quality, cost-effective equipment and service methods are being utilized.
- Works closely with other account management team and business development staff ensuring overall synergies and cross selling opportunities are targeted.
Skills/Educational Requirements:
- College Degree in Telecommunications or Business a plus, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 15 years sales experience in the telecommunications/electrical specialties industry or equivalent experience
- BICSI certifications a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills a must.
- Must be confident and possess the ability to build strong, long-term relationships.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- High level of computer literacy including MS Office/MS Outlook/Salesforce and database management.
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location/office.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Proven ability to manage and maximize revenue from an extensive portfolio of key accounts.
- Ability to quickly develop a rapport based on trust.
- Outstanding presentation skills.
- Proven ability to develop opportunities with new or existing customers.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Working a minimum of 40 hours/week.
- Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day.
- Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders.
- Repetitive use of hands for writing, typing, data entry, and filing.
- Vision adequate for computer use and reading.
- Hearing adequate for phone use.
- Standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, bending, twisting, and walking as needed to perform site surveys to collect data for project design.
- Balance adequate for climbing ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
- Environmental factors include working in: temperature extremes of 0 F to 100 F up to 8 hours inside or outside; atmospheric exposure to dust, gases, fumes, odors; and poor ventilation in confined spaces.
- Special hazards include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
- Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves and hearing protection.
