The General Manager (GM) is a visionary leader and role model for highly creative and motivated teams. They are responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of catering through managing and developing the respective department heads. The focus will be to ensure an exceptional level of food, service, décor, and overall guest satisfaction. Primary responsibilities are to achieve the overall sales, production and profit targets, and business objectives. They are responsible for the quality and presentation of Bold in collaboration with the Director of Catering Operations, Director of Culinary, and Director of Sales.

Reporting Structure
This position reports to the company partners.
Management
Create, implement, and fulfill business plan objectives within a structured time management system
Communicate business-affecting information and feedback to company partners
Manage and make decisions based on company values, purpose, and mission
Coach, counsel and develop direct reports through weekly meetings, one-on-one meetings, daily check-ins and timely performance reviews
Establish service quality expectations and standards in collaboration with department heads
Responsible for providing leadership and being a role model for managers and all staff members.
Responsible for encouraging and developing open and thorough communications between all Bold departments and staff
Human Resources/Staffing
Responsible for ensuring/supervising proper staffing levels resulting in smooth operations and total guest satisfaction.
Ensure staff morale and culture congruent with company values, mission, purpose
Work with managers and partners to determine departmental staffing needs/levels, interviewing, and hiring key salary positions
Conduct orientation for all new salaried hires and ensure proper orientation of hourly new hires
Practice an open-door policy for employee grievances or dissatisfaction, documenting and addressing and escalating, as needed, appropriately and timely
Create and ensure new manager training agendas are followed
Hold staff accountable for fulfilling job description, conduct performance reviews of direct reports and ensure timely hourly reviews, coach and follow company guidelines for documentation of any lack of performance
Financial, Legal and Administrative
Meet annual sales and profit targets; maximize profitability
Participate in annual budget writing and financial target setting
Ensure inventory, payroll, and petty cash procedures are consistent
Consistently manage with a sense of profitability with Bold long-term interests in mind
Track and report on required financial or statistical information on a weekly basis to partners
Follow-up and implement new programs, policies, & procedures (i.e., Accounting, Marketing, HR, etc.)
Effectively manage cost categories including COS, labor, controllables and fixed expenses resulting in meeting or exceeding period, quarter and annual PAC and EBITDA targets.
Oversee the management of all FOH related invoicing and payroll procedures resulting in accurate and timely weekly, bi-weekly and period financial numbers, working with the accounting team as needed
Ensure permits and licenses are renewed and posted timely
Drive profitability and manage costs
Ensure P&Ls/In-house P&L
Responsible for whole-heartedly participating in the creation of and working from the annual business plan.
Responsible for abiding by and enforcing all Bold policies & procedures for managers and hourly employees.
Responsible for annual review and adherence to all vendor contracts including preferred vendor agreements
Operations
Responsible for guaranteeing every event is executed at or above established company standards ensuring maximum guest satisfaction in the areas of service, ambience and hospitality.
Responsible for recognizing, developing and/or maintaining strategic relationships with Bold regular clients and supporters.
Co-responsible for food quality and consistency through on going communication with Bold Culinary Director and BOH managers and staff.
Responsible for the overall cleanliness and appearance of every event.(including bussing and staging areas)
Responsible for dealing with dissatisfied clients and problem resolution.
Responsible for the management of all needed facility maintenance to the interior and exterior (landscaping, common areas, actual structure) of the building.
Responsible for the management of all service, equipment and supply contracts.
Responsible for monitoring and upholding day-to-day operating procedures that affect work-place safety including transportation to and from events.
Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all Bold vehicles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven track record of meeting sales/cost targets, personal goals, and developing managers
5+ years of catering industry experience, including managing a team successfully
Computer skills including, database management, word processing and spreadsheet programs
Solid understanding of P&L concepts, reporting and troubleshooting. Ability to teach P&L concepts.
Leadership, coaching, and teaching abilities
Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening skills)
Proactive problem solving abilities
Expected to have honest, open communication with staff, managers, and owners
Experienced in hiring and recruiting
Proven success in developing team members
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Track record of creating policies and operational procedures
Physical requirements
Consistent standing and walking
Occasional stooping, kneeling and crawling
Frequent ascending or descending of ladders, stairs and/or ramps
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours per shift
Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing and rotation of the spine, elbows and wrists
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs on a regular and continuing basis
Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, i.e. case of wine, full ice buckets, etc
Must be able to listen and speak, for both guest, client and team member interaction
Constant use of POS/Computer systems
Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
