Job Description Technical Sales Manager

As a technical Sales Manger you specialize in technologically and scientifically advanced products. You will use your technical skills to explain the benefits of our products and new developments or services to existing and new customers.  You will  show how our products or services are better than our competition and develop new technical concepts along with our customers.


Bachelor’s degree in engineering and or at least 5 years’ experience in that field, some German language skills would be a plus. Strong communication skills, team player, willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Estimated travel is around 20%, SAP knowledge would be a plus. 

Interpret and read technical drawings for evaluation.

Knowledge of automotive core tools or similar experience in product qualification process



Technical Sales Managers are a key point of contact with our R&D department in Germany and for clients and provide both pre- and after-sales advice on new technology developments. You'll liaise regularly with other members of the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as:

  • Reviewing technical drawings, tolerances and specifications in the automotive and general industry
  • Design and development
  • Production and project management
  • Preparing quotes and technical approval drawings
  • IT
  • Purchasing / Accounting
  • Quality and logistics
  • Senior Company Managers, VP and President.

As an technical Sales Manager you'll need to:

  • search for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximize client potential in designated regions and review their technical requirements.
  • develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements.
  • Have regular site R&D meetings with existing and new customers
  • persuade clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of new technology, quality, price, and delivery.
  • Review customers RFQ and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Lead project technical management activities inhouse and with the customer
  • Assist with cost calculations and impact on technical requirements.
  • Product development and Support PPAPs
  • Support negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs.
  • Support client quotation process and provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
  • work on after-sales technical support services and provide technical back up as required.
  • arrange and carry out product technical training
  • analyze cost impact on technical changes and prepare reports for head office and keep customer records.
  • meet regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects.
  • support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events, provide technical and R&D presentations to customers
  • make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets client needs.
  • liaise with other members of the sales team and other technical experts.
  • provide training and produce support material for other members of the sales team.

GASKETS (Mobility and Industry)

Minimal leakage values, robustness and simple handling are a matter of course for all gasket requirements. INSULATION (Mobility and Industry)

Every insulation application is different, and special requirements are part of our everyday business. Similarly, product geometry requirements can be just as diverse as the insulation tasks themselves. This is why Frenzelit relies on expertise along the entire value chain. We deliver high-tech solutions from a single source. Our insulation products are high-temperature-resistant up to 1100 °C and are extremely tough: Resistance against chemicals or environmental influences, static strength and mechanical properties, such as compressive strength, can be specifically configured through intelligent material combinations and numerous finishing options (e.g., coatings). And we exclusively use substances that are harmless to health and environmentally compatible as the basis for high-temperature applications.
