Responsibilities:

  • Analyze construction drawings and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure they meet project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive cost database to facilitate accurate estimating.
  • Review historical cost data to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed take-offs and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
  • Present estimates to senior management and participate in bid proposal preparations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, construction materials, and market conditions.
  • Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating.
  • Associate's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills.
