This is an 8-month co-op position beginning in January 2025.

 

The Co-op, Project Engineer will report to the Senior Manager, TD&L Capital and will provide engineering support to Nutrien’s Distribution Terminal facilities within the Transportation, Distribution & Logistics department. Nutrien’s distribution facilities store and transfer dry, liquid and gaseous products at strategic locations throughout North America. The individual in this role would support both capital projects and operations analysis for those facilities. An individual project or analysis might involve multi-disciplinary contribution or coordination in areas such as mechanical, chemical, civil, structural or environmental. Nutrien has a strong and pervasive safety culture which the individual must be engaged in.

 

What you will do:

  • Capital Projects
    • Initiate and develop capital construction projects from initiation through project completion
    • Complete project documents necessary for Stage Gate reviews and Authorization for Expenditures, including cost estimates, project charters and project schedules
    • Manage projects and coordinate project design intentions within project constraints, including work with Nutrien facility personnel, various skilled trades, and 3rd-party contractors
    • Procurement of engineering services, construction services, materials, and equipment
    • In conjunction with the Senior Manager, TD&L Capital, work to improve monthly capital reporting and data analysis on the Terminals capital portfolio
  • Operations Analysis
    • Collaborate with Process Engineers and Terminal Site Supervisors to contribute to process safety and risk management processes at the Terminals

 

What you will bring:

  • Enrolled in a Mechanical, Chemical or Civil/Structural Engineering related program
  • Must be a returning student with a graduation date no earlier than August 2025
  • Excellent communication skills, with both technical content and for general internal and external coordination purposes
  • Proficiency with data analysis techniques and Microsoft Excel
  • Interest in a broad perspective on multi-disciplinary engineering initiatives
  • Effective time management and organizational skills

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

Salary range is $23.62/hour - $27.09/hour. This range is estimated for Co-op, Project Engineer in Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

 

We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. Our benefit package also demonstrates our culture of care with paid vacation, sick days and holidays as well as paid personal and maternity/parental leaves and an Employee and Family Assistance Program. A Student or Intern role does not participate in any retirement savings or incentive programs. Details of the benefits package will be shared in the application process.
