**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) via American Heart Association; RDCS or RCS required
**Must-Have:** Proficiency in cardiac ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures

**Job Description:**

- Provide specialized cardiovascular care while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort.
- Perform and review baseline patient assessments and evaluate patient responses to diagnostic cardiac procedures.
- Operate and maintain all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment as specified by the manufacturer.
- Perform accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physicians.
- Conduct specialized testing, including TEE, Stress Echo, and Pharmacological Stress Echo with computer-assisted devices.
- Cross-train to perform EKGs, treadmills, and Holter monitoring as needed.
- Ensure proper function and calibration of diagnostic equipment.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement, in-services, ongoing education, and attend 80% of staff meetings for skill enhancement.
- Provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours according to department and facility policy.
- Recognize and promptly report unusual results or patient responses to the primary health care team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
- Effectively communicate and adjust approach based on patient and family understanding levels.
- Troubleshoot and correct equipment malfunctions or resolve unusual patient problems during recordings.
- Independently prioritize clinical and administrative work, identifying process improvements.
- Process patient and department records, ensuring documentation of performed tests meets hospital standards.
- May be required to float to various locations within a 60-mile radius and perform duties outside of original assignment job requirements according to policy.
