Job Summary and Qualifications

The Echocardiographer is responsible for performing regular Echocardiograms, setting up and assisting with Transesophageal Echocardiograms and setting up and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms, to the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and Plaza Medical Center. This individual demonstrates increasing competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population. Employee will recognize the population specific needs of the CAD, CHF, PVD, MI, UA and Angina patients and apply the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviors to meet those needs when performing patient care activities.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Registered/registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (CCI). If applicant is registry eligible, then registry must be obtained within one year from hire date
  • Must be a graduated of an accredited Echocardiography Technology Program or equivalent years of experience.
  • For new graduates: minimum of six months specialized training in echo cardiology preferred.

Medical City Fort Worth is a 350+ bed full-service Magnet Designated hospital. It is located in the heart of the medical district. Medical City Fort Worth serves as a tertiary referral center for Tarrant County and many counties within a 90 mile radius. We offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. We offer three ER locations, including two off campus ER located in Burleson and White Settlement. Medical City Fort Worth is a designated comprehensive stroke center.
