- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II by Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board
- Or Licensed Professional Counselor by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board
- Or Licensed Social Worker by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board
- Or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board
- Or Licensed Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing plus completion of a master’s degree in psychology or other mental health-related field
- Or Licensed Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing plus completion of a master's degree in nursing with a Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing concentrate
- Or Licensed Registered Nurse with practice specialty certificate in Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing as issued by Ohio Board of Nursing.

**Certifications:** Relevant License and Continuing Professional Education for license renewal required.

**Must-Have:** Valid driver's license; items must be in a clear plastic bag; cannot bring cell phone or smart watch into the institution.

**Job Description:**

- Develops, coordinates, implements, and provides interdisciplinary services related to behavioral and biomedical science for health and illness.
- Performs psychosocial interventions within the scope of practice with clients.
- Conducts individual, family, or group interventions such as counseling, testing, and education.
- Develops intervention goals and objectives to educate and resolve clients' problems in functioning.
- Participates in establishing, implementing, and evaluating treatment system's goals and objectives.
- Interviews clients and their families to establish case goals and objectives.
- Assesses clients to determine intervention techniques and monitors responses to treatments.
- Provides feedback on the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Evaluates lower-level behavioral healthcare provider cases and client progress from treatment plans.
- Maintains necessary data documents for federal, state, and local agencies.
- Prepares social histories, admission/aftercare summaries, and court documents; completes forms required by law and/or department policy.
- Serves on treatment teams and program development teams.
- Attends training meetings, intradepartmental meetings, and court hearings.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with other facilities, agencies, and support services for referrals and follow-up services.
- Knowledgeable in departmental regulations, policy, and procedures; governmental rules and regulations; counseling (group and individual); client/patient care; crisis intervention.
- Ability to counsel on sensitive matters; proofread technical materials, recognize errors, and make corrections; recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate actions.
- Understands abstract fields of study; solves problems in situations with many variables; applies social work theories, principles, and techniques.
