**Job Description:**
- Compile health information by reviewing, cataloging, and checking medical reports for completeness
- Organize medical reports for filing and review charts to ensure all reports and signatures are present
- Type health information forms such as preparing charts for new admissions and filling out forms
- Prepare requests for specific reports or certificates
- Compile and type statistical reports such as daily and monthly census, admissions, discharges, or length of stay
- File reports into health information records; record information in logs and file and retrieve records
- Provide information from health records after determining the appropriateness of the request
- Coordinate with other departments concerning health record procedures

- Understand regulations governing medical record keeping and patient confidentiality
- Skillful in using typewriter and/or word processors and calculators
- Ability to solve problems involving few variables within familiar contexts
- Proficient in writing routine business letters, evaluations, or records following standard procedures
- Possess the ability to proofread medical reports, recognize errors, and identify missing information
- Effective in gathering, collating, and classifying information
