**Job Description:**

- Compile health information by reviewing, cataloging, and checking medical reports for completeness.
- Organize medical reports for placement in files and review charts to ensure all reports and signatures are present.
- Type health information forms, prepare charts for new admissions, and fill out forms.
- Prepare requests for specific reports or certificates.
- Compile and type statistical reports such as daily and monthly census, Medicaid days, admissions, discharges, or lengths of stay.
- File reports into health information records, record information in logs, and manage the filing system for easy retrieval.
- Provide information from health records after assessing request appropriateness.
- Coordinate with other departments concerning health information records procedures.

- Knowledge of health information technology and regulations governing medical record keeping, including confidentiality requirements.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Proficiency in using typewriters, word processors, and calculators.
- Ability to solve problems within a familiar context.
- Ability to write routine business letters and evaluations, proofread medical reports, and identify errors.
- Ability to gather, collate, and classify information regarding data, people, or things.
