Specialist I - Family and Autism Supports, Pathlight

Join our team of caring human service providers At Family Support Services of Pathlight, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for people of all ages with autism and/or intellectual disabilities to thrive. We also offer several services for families that build supports for their loved ones.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and creative professional to join our DESE/DDS program and Autism Connections, Western Massachusetts' Family Empowerment Center. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to support a small caseload of families and to provide office based family support through our Family Empowerment program.

In this position, you will:

* DESE Educational Supports - Partner with a caseload of families with children and young adults (ages 6-22) to create and coordinate supports within the family home.
* Support families to connect to resources and services.
* Manage individualized budgets for each family and track individualized goals and progress for each child.


* For families connected to our Family Empowerment program you will information and resources about supports that are available to Autism Connections' greater community.
* Help create a supportive, welcoming atmosphere to form friendships, connections and to enjoy fun activities



Location:

* DESE Educational Supports and services occur throughout all four counties of Western Massachusetts (Hampden, Hampshire, Berkshire and Franklin counties). Mileage Reimbursement is included.
* Family Empowerment assistance is offered at our centers in Northampton & Greenfield Offices.

Position Availability: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm with flexibility to meet programmatic needs -that includes adjusting hours as needed.

Qualifications:

* Broad knowledge of a discipline involving the use of a broad theoretical knowledge equal to a complete 4 year college education.
* Knowledge of autism and treatments.
* Over 1 year up to and including 3 years working with children/adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
* Requires valid driver's license and reliable transportation/vehicle.

Annual Salary: $41,454.50
