Position Overview:
The Supply Specialist is responsible for coordinating and leading the day-to-day activity of their assigned commodities' supply base. The Supply Specialist will create purchase orders for multiple locations and drive supply continuity. Duties include, but are not limited to, communication interface between Avanti Windows & Doors, suppliers, and internal personnel. This position requires excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Problem solving and organizational skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
* The Supply Specialist is responsible for actively monitoring the performance of his/her commodities' supply chain and to take the necessary supplier development steps to improve the performance. This could include working with the supplier or supplier quality personnel to solve the issue.
* Ability to translate the demand information received to plan and order the correct inventory levels at each manufacturing location. This will include maintenance of SKU usage and reorder metrics.
* Responsible for communication with manufacturing, suppliers, and the Inventory Control Manager on delinquent orders.
* Resolves purchase order issues including clarification, processing paperwork for substitutions, or modifications associated with the purchase order.
* Loads and maintains part information into FeneVision.
* Responsible for placing purchase orders for materials consumed in multiple manufacturing locations.
* Expedites orders to ensure on-time delivery where necessary.
* Participates in a monthly physical inventory process. Tasks may include the following: material tagging, auditing, data entry and cycle gain/loss transactions.
* Collaborates with the greater supply chain team the input of purchasing data into the Avanti's FeneVision system to meet manufacturing needs and schedules.
* Handles adjustments with suppliers involving replacement of materials not conforming to purchase specifications, return of material declared surplus because of engineering changes, cancellations of order, etc.
* Coordinates communication between suppliers and the various individuals within the company and assists in obtaining proper information regarding specifications, appropriate catalogs, price lists, etc. to be used by other departments in assisting them to obtain the latest information when referencing to products.
TRAVEL
As needed travel to suppliers to interact with their management team, understand their capabilities, and clearly communicate Avanti's supplier expectations.
* Position may require travel up to 20%.

Ability to effectively present information to others, gather information from others, and respond appropriately to questions from customers, coworkers, and managers. Must display excellent phone and email etiquette. Must be able to present appropriate attitude for the situation when interacting with customers or coworkers.

Must be a team player and exhibit a strong desire to learn and promote self-growth. Must be pro-active, self-disciplined, self-motivated, and have a demonstrated ability to follow projects through to completion. Attention to detail is required.
