Job Summary

The Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of all products handled, as well as the inspection of contractor-operated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality assurance surveillance of all products, including scheduled and unscheduled inspections of facilities and equipment.
  • Initiate inspection reports, review procedures, and calculate payment deductions based on performance-based deficiency percentages.
  • Interface with contractors regarding inspections and reporting deficiencies for corrective action.
  • Ensure contractors are complying with quality surveillance provisions of the contract performance work statement.
  • Maintain records of inspections, including details and comments made by contract personnel and customers.
  • Provide metric-based data reports to the Fuels Branch Manager as required.
Environmental Responsibilities

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will also be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance practices, issues, mandates, policy directives, and permits are current and up-to-date.

  • Provide required information upon request to federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Monitor contractor petroleum, oils, and lubricants (POL) operations and maintenance related to tanks, tank systems, piping, filters, discharge points, wastewater processing, and pumping facilities for compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
Fuel System Responsibilities

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will also be responsible for inspecting loading and unloading of petroleum products and bulk fuel received, transferred, stored, or issued by tank truck or pipeline.

  • Inspect loading and unloading of petroleum products and bulk fuel received, transferred, stored, or issued by tank truck or pipeline.
  • Inspect the condition of tanks, pipelines, manifolds, pumps, and appurtenances.
  • Ensure products are not inadvertently mixed or diluted, which may affect basic properties and render them unsuitable for use.
  • Monitor the loading or refueling from fill stands, tank farm operations, and issues of fuel from refuelers to aircraft.
  • Conduct surveillances over military and contractor refueling operations to ensure personnel are properly trained and equipment is maintained in safe condition.
Alternate Contracting Officer's Representative

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will also serve as an Alternate Contracting Officer's Representative (ACOR) during the absence of the COR and act as the Branch Functional System Administrator for the DLA Energy Base Level Support Application (BLSA) System.
