HeartPlace PLLC - US Heart and Vascular has an excellent full time employment opportunity, with benefits, for an experienced Cardiovascular Sonographer FLOAT. The successful candidate would be required to work in a FLOAT capacity within the HeartPlace clinic network with a minimum of two years of working experience as a registered Cardiac Sonographer. Vascular experience and registry would be preferred. Mileage would be paid.

General Summary

Responsible for performing echocardiography and vascular studies and related tests as ordered by the physician in accordance with acceptable medical practices and procedures. Current registry in adult echocardiography through ARDMS or CCI is required. Registry in vascular testing is desired but will consider experienced vascular sonographer who is registry eligible and able to obtain certification by the deadline set by the Company.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Performs 2-D Echo and Doppler studies.
  2. Performs Stress Echo studies.
  3. Responsible for performing a variety of noninvasive vascular evaluations
  4. Explains procedures to patients and obtains informed consent from patient.
  5. Obtains insurance precertification for testing as necessary.
  6. Performs test result abstracting to EMR as necessary.
  7. Calls patients with appointment reminders and test results as necessary.
  8. Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
  9. Ensures all required licensure/certification remain active/current at all times.
  10. Provides excellent customer service and the highest quality patient care.
  11. At all times protects the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) of patients per HIPAA regulations; including does not review his/her own record, or records of employees or co-workers without a "need to know".
  12. Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times.
  13. Performs all other duties as required by management.
  14. Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.
  15. Adheres to company safety standards at all times.
  16. Attends work in accordance with the attendance management policy.
  17. Completes education requirements timely as set by the Company.
  18. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  19. May be required to move between locations as needed.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. High school diploma or GED from Texas Accredited equivalent.
  2. At least 2 years of practical experience.
  3. Currently registered as a Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI.
  4. Currently registered as a Vascular Sonographer or vascular registry eligible and completed by deadline set by the Company.
  5. Current CPR certification.
  6. Fluently speaks, reads, and writes English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  7. Understanding of OSHA requirements in a clinical setting
  8. Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: standing, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, transporting supplies or equipment, walking, and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 50 pounds, maneuvering items/patients which may weigh over 200 pounds (this done with assistance).
  11. Vision (including discernment of color) and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.
  12. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
  13. Is present at work during the scheduled hours and days of the job to work directly with patients, in accordance with the Company's Attendance policy.
  14. Maintains professional attitude, presentation and demeanor at all times.
