SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Senior Manager, Maintenance is responsible for leading and developing maintenance programs across multiple sites in multiple states. The role encompasses the implementation of a robust Maintenance Information Management System and the development of a world-class preventative maintenance program. The Senior Manager, Maintenance directs a diverse team of maintenance technicians and supervisors and is tasked with optimizing asset management and maintenance operations in support of the manufacturing of specialty construction products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency across all sites.
* Assess the existing maintenance team, identify skill gaps, and recruit top-tier talent to build a best-in-class maintenance organization.
* Spearhead the selection and implementation of a Maintenance Information Management System to streamline operations.
* Create and oversee a preventative maintenance program that minimizes downtime and aligns with production schedules.
* Manage asset tracking, maintenance scheduling, and spare parts inventory control.
* Collaborate with production planning to ensure scheduled maintenance activities are seamlessly integrated with manufacturing operations.
* Enhance multiple maintenance capabilities and services, including, but not limited to: plastic sheet extrusion, CNC routing, Water Jet cutting, welding, metal forming, and anodizing processes.
* Act as a key liaison between maintenance, engineering, production and other departments, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Design and deploy Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve maintenance team performance, equipment reliability, and maintenance response times.
* Utilize KPIs to set performance targets, monitor progress, and provide data-driven insights for decision-making.
* Foster a culture of accountability by clearly defining responsibilities and expectations for the maintenance team, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing constructive feedback and corrective action and documentation best practices.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Plastics Engineering, or related field. A master's degree is strongly preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to plastic sheet extrusion and related technologies.
* Strong leadership skills with a proven record of building and managing technical teams.
* Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing maintenance strategies and systems.
* Expertise in asset management, inventory control, and production coordination.
* Experience with capital improvements and expenditures a significant plus.
* Knowledge of industry-specific standards and compliance requirements.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in process simulation and statistical analysis tools is advantageous.
* Experience with Lean SixSigma/5S is a significant plus.
