Performs triage, crisis counseling, patient and family education, referral and linkage to community resources, institutions and programs. Participates in registration of patients, validation of insurance coverage and in the collection and documentation of assessment information. Assists in monitoring patients to assure a safe and therapeutic environment and assists petitioners in completing an involuntary commitment (302).

Education

Associates Degree: with major course work in counseling, psychology, sociology, social work, human services, criminal justice, or education (Required)

Bachelors Degree: in Sociology, Psychology, Human Services or Social Work. Candidates with a bachelors degree in any other major must have 12 college credits in Sociology, Psychology, Human Services, or Social Work (Preferred)

Experience

1 Year experience in a Mental Health related role with Bachelors degree OR 2 Years experience in public or private sector for human services with at least 1 year in a position involving direct client contact with an Associates degree. (Required)

License/Certifications

BLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
