As a Payroll Project Manager, you will oversee and manage payroll projects within our organization. This role is responsible for the overall management, performance, completion of projects, technology enhancements, implementations, process improvements and optimization that successfully drive payroll initiatives to help drive Inspire Brands payroll strategy. This role requires strong project management skills, deep understanding of payroll systems, and excellent communication abilities. This role will also coordinate team training and provide support to the Payroll Director.

Successful candidates are passionate and enthusiastic about helping others, eager to learn new skills, and are detail oriented. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of complex projects. The position requires project management experience, payroll management expertise, training, and teamwork skills to coordinate the tasks associated with each implementation. Success in this role will involve driving cross-functional partnerships to identify, design, and implement value-added efficiency workflows. They enjoy project management and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment based in our Atlanta Support Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Set and manage the project governance
* Establish reporting priorities and report implementation progress to the various leadership teams and steering committees
* Collaborate on or lead all areas of project management for multiple medium to large projects from initiation through delivery involving multiple teams to ensure the successful execution of the project's mission, goals, and objectives.
* Set or collaborate on business objectives to deliver solutions with the most efficient use of resources and technologies.
* Build project plans and templates such as project schedules, risk logs, status reports, etc.
* Identify optimization potential and define requirements with follow through to implementation with measurable process improvements.
* Manage the project lifecycle, from kick-off through transition and success
* Document and maintain best practices, including SOPs for payroll processing, and implement new procedures as needed
* Assist in Training (virtual and in-person) and Development of Payroll Team Members and New Hires
* Maintain a high level of customer service through timely resolution of escalated issues
* Assist with research and resolution of complex payroll-related matters
* Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all payroll-related items
* Support the Payroll Director in managing multiple project deliverables on time
* Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiries and issues, providing timely resolution and support to stakeholders
* Completes ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by payroll leadership

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

* Undergraduate/Graduate degree in business, accounting, human resources, or related field preferred
* Experience (3-5 years) in multi-state full cycle payroll with an emphasis on delivering cross-functional project management required
* Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred, but not required
* Experience with Workday or comparable software required
* Experience (3-5 years) with Payroll projects and system implementations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
* Strong computer skills
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
* Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
* Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and meet critical deadlines
* Ability to work in a highly structured team environment
* Ability to maintain strict adherence to outlined procedures
* Ability to have a flexible work schedule due to work volume fluctuations
