CRG is partnering with one of our clients in the Atlanta area seeking to add a Payroll Specialist to their growing team. The Payroll Specialist, reporting to the Payroll Manager, will utilize their expertise to efficiently process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls for salaried and hourly employees using UKG Pro Payroll management software. The successful candidate must have experience using UKG Pro and a minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a large multi-state environment and experience using UTM or other similar time management system. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Payroll Auditing: Conduct thorough audits of employee time and labor data, demonstrating strong attention to detail and an ability to resolve discrepancies effectively through collaboration with supervisors.
  • Multi-State Payroll Processing: Execute payroll operations in a multi-state corporate environment with precision, including the calculation of shift differentials and other pay components, showcasing adeptness in compliance with regional regulations.
  • Tax and Deduction Accuracy: Ensure meticulous accuracy in the handling of federal, state, and local taxes, as well as deductions such as social security contributions, employee benefits, garnishments, and fringe benefits, displaying proficiency in complex payroll deductions.
  • Reconciliation and Resolution: Assist in the reconciliation of payroll accounts by promptly addressing and resolving any discrepancies, utilizing strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach.
  • Employee Support: Respond promptly and courteously to employee inquiries regarding paycheck details, deductions, leave accruals, and direct deposit, exhibiting exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to employee satisfaction.
  • Garnishment Processing: Efficiently manage garnishments, communicating relevant information to all stakeholders involved, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Research and Documentation: Conduct comprehensive research and gather necessary documentation to establish tax accounts in new operational states, demonstrating proficiency in navigating regulatory frameworks and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for resolution.
  • System Liaison: Serve as a liaison with UKG regarding payroll and UTM effectively communicating payroll and system-related issues and facilitating timely resolutions.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Generate insightful payroll reports from UKG Pro, leveraging business intelligence tools to provide actionable insights for decision-making.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in payroll processing roles, showcasing expertise as a Payroll Clerk, Coordinator, Administrator, or Analyst, preferably in a large, multi-state environment.
  • Education: Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or payroll certification (FPC or CPP) preferred, demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in using UKG Pro payroll software (formerly known as UltiPro), with experience in UKG Time Management (UTM) preferred.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with year-end processes, W-2 form processing, and a preference for experience in Canadian or global payroll processing.
  • Cross-Functional Skills: Understanding of Human Resources and Accounting fundamentals, with a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Deadline Management: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate across departments and with external partners.
