Scheduling Specialist

Join our team committed to developing strong futures for Iowa's kids. The Scheduling Specialist helps to welcome kids and their families to the Child Guidance Center and ensures that appointments are scheduled and confirmed.
Hours for the position is from 9:15 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Thursday and from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on Friday.

As a Scheduling Specialist you will:
* Adhere to the philosophy, values, commitments and practices of the Sanctuary model in guiding the day-to-day interactions with clients, families and staff.
* Respect and value individual differences and actively support a culture that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion.
* Schedule and confirm appointments for clients.
* Greet children, parents and visitors in a positive manner when they arrive for appointments.
* Answer phones and direct calls to proper persons.
* Monitor the safety and security of the 2nd floor waiting room on days assigned to cover 2nd floor scheduling desk.
* Handle payments from clients.
* Complete routine clerical duties such as typing letters, copying, faxing, data entry, filing, and scanning.
* May include addition duties such as processing transfers, interpreter billing, working with accounting on billing issues, ordering office supplies, maintaining office equipment, and maintaining the staff library and staff therapy closet.
* Provide back-up to other Administrative Support Staff.

* High School education; AA degree preferred, and reasonable amount of pertinent training and experience. Experience scheduling appointments in a medical setting is preferred.
* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from superiors, other employees, residents, and persons outside of the organization.
* Ability to effectively handle emergency situations and demonstrate flexibility in managing the reception area.
Criminal Record, Abuse Registry, and Motor Vehicle record checks completed.
