The shift for this position is 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday.

RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for a Registration Specialist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together As a Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by greeting and registering patients in a cheerful, professional, and sincere manner, and performing other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position working morning/day shifts throughout the week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

(75%) Registration

* Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays with patients
* Fields calls appropriately for center associates
* Calls patients to confirm upcoming appointments
* Acts as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information
* Maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office clean up
* Prepares paperwork for daily and upcoming appointments
* Faxes reports, billing requests, and medical release forms to referring offices as requested
* Works closely with technologists to ensure patients have a smooth transition between the front office and technical areas

(10%) Insurance

* Verifies patient's insurance
* Pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company
* Obtains insurance authorization
* Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
* Handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines

(10%) Scheduling

* Arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
* Enters and submits patient exam orders
* Verifies orders match exam schedules
* Schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
* Schedules walk-in patients
* Processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
* Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians

(5%) Completes other duties as assigned

Required:

* High school graduate or equivalent
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* 1-2 years customer service experience
* Proficient with using computer systems and typing

Preferred:

* Previous medical office experience
* Medical terminology and office background
* Insurance knowledge
* Bilingual
