Nebraska Medicine is seeking a dedicated professional to take on the role of Senior Patient Access Specialist.

Shift Details:
  • 32 hours per week
  • Monday/Wednesday/Friday 2:30 PM - 8:30 PM, & Tuesday/Thursday 1:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Job Responsibilities: Senior Patient Access Specialist
Ensure that patients and clients are welcomed in a professional, timely, and efficient manner. Accurately create accounts to optimize financial flow for the organization while exceeding client expectations and adhering to all relevant regulations throughout the processes of scheduling confirmation, pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, payment processing, and patient navigation. Coverage for this role is essential 24/7 across various departments, including emergency services. In-person and bedside patient interaction is required.

Required Qualifications: Senior Patient Access Specialist

• Minimum of two years of experience in customer service is required.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Ability to work independently and proactively is required.

• Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills are required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are required.

• Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships within the organization is required.

• Typing speed of 35 words per minute with 95% accuracy is required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire is required, from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program.

Preferred Qualifications: Senior Patient Access Specialist

• Experience in healthcare, collections, registration, or revenue cycle is preferred.

• Associate's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field is preferred.

• Familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle processes, including insurance or registration, is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is preferred.
