Job Description:

Direct Care Technician - Innova Grace

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with Standards
  • Administer medication to clients (Medication pass experience preferred)
  • Deliver quality care to clients within a Residential Treatment Center
  • Ensure 100% accountability of Clients at all times
  • Support and encourage clients with activities of daily living
  • Provide appropriate documentation as required
  • Work cooperatively with team members in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the treatment plan
  • Lead mental health groupsfollowing a provided curriculum
  • Ensure safety of Clients and facilities by following established protocols
  • Be available and respond in times of crisis or in intense situations
  • Provide empathetic support while maintaining professional and ethical boundaries
  • Assist with meal preparing, serving, and clean up as needed
  • Inventory and record items for new clients
  • Attend to facility standards; general and orderly cleaning
  • Complete required reports and checklists
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by Leadership

Competencies:
  • Demonstrate professional and compassionate verbal and written communication skills

  • Responsible and able to work with minimal oversight and follow through on tasks

  • Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record
  • Knowledge of ethical code and requirements of mandated reporting
  • Work collaboratively to meet team goals and expectations

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have earned a High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of mental health practices (experienced)
  • Prior residential experience preferred
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant -MA (preferred), Certified Medication Aide -CMA (preferred), Certified Mental Health Technician -CMHT (preferred)
  • Post high school medical education (para-professional nursing, medical, and/or technical)
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse students, Social Work students, Psychology or Counseling students preferred

Physical Requirements:
  • Stepping backward.
  • Grasping.
  • Bending at the waist and knees.
  • Lower 30-50 pounds to the ground.
  • Must be able to get up and down from the floor without assistance.
  • Full range of motion in both arms and both legs.
  • Must be able to do a deep reverse lunge.
  • Must be able to climb stairs (two story house).
