Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Technician Lead to join our team at Nexus Health Systems. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and supporting patients with daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the shift, ensuring policies and procedures are followed and necessary documentation is completed.
  • Manage and direct mental health technicians on shift, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement daily schedules for residents, ensuring adequate supervision and care.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients, promoting a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Manage crisis situations, including verbal conflict, emotional dysregulation, and physical conflict.
  • Role model appropriate behaviors, attitudes, and social skills, reinforcing therapeutic treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to lead milieu activities, such as current events groups and recreational activities.
  • Chart patient observations, following prescribed procedures and standards.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient treatment programs.
Requirements
  • AA/BA/BS in Psychology, Education, or related social service field (preferred)
  • Experience in residential care or mental health treatment (preferred)
  • SAMA or other Nexus Approved non-aggressive behavior intervention certification
