Job Purpose

We are now accepting applications for a Scheduler II position at the Richmond Main Plant, reporting to Catina Sheets. This position is a salary role and to be considered you must meet the job requirements. The Scheduler II reviews product demand and schedules the production on the assembly lines and the production floor, to meet internal and external customer demands. As product demand component availability and capacity availability changes, the Scheduler adjusts the schedule accordingly and communicates updated information to all necessary parties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

* Maintain Daily/Weekly production schedules daily ensuring that production has at least 48-hour advance notice of schedule.
* Communicate the materials needed to ensure material is readily available for the schedules.
* Review and analyze information within various modules (MRP, cycle counts, push-pull report, exception reports, etc) and release orders in support of these requirements.
* Coordinate, prioritize, schedule, and adjust production orders to meet internal and external requirements.
* Effectively communicate changes to the daily & weekly production schedules to all stakeholders, including management, customers both internal and external.
* Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
* Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
* Develop and manage Production Schedules and communicate demand and changes to Production Team daily.
* Synchronizes production schedules between departments. Ensure that schedules are being followed up and communicated with planning.
* Communicate and follow up on any material issues or concerns with purchasing.
* Evaluate, maintain and update our MRP system data and parameters; validate accuracy of production orders and report discrepancies.
* Verify that availability of raw materials and components are accurate and will support the schedule.
* Prepare, develop, coordinate, and integrate all levels of production schedules.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to establish and sustain a Lean culture on the planning and scheduling side.
* Ensure that established OTD requirements are met.



Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution at least one (1) year of manufacturing industry experience and at least two (2) or more years in a production planner/scheduler role in manufacturing environment. A Bachelor's degree in a related field of study may be substituted in lieu of experience. Purchasing experience will be considered. Bachelor's degree in a related field of study preferred.

Competencies: Knowledge of plant operation with regard to product, capacity, scheduling, customer service, and MRP while working to integrate the best practice aspects into achieving the plant goals and objectives.

Language Skills: Fluent verbal and written skills in English.

Mathematical Skills: Strong understanding of basic operations skills including statistics, forecasting, scheduling, MRP, etc.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to associate cause and affect relationships and determine patterns of activity in anticipation of change to the operation. Proactively identify, communicate and de-conflict scheduling issues

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel; SAP preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Highly organized and able to multi-task, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.

Travel Required: Minimal

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
