Essential Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide Mental Health consultation to child care personnel, and program and case consultation at child care centers &/or family child care homes.
  • Provide on-site mental health services to children from 0-5 years old individually, to their families, and in groups.
  • Provide on-site parenting classes &/or support groups to the families with children 0-5.
  • Provide on-site in-service training to child care personnel on mental health related topics.
  • Provide appropriate referrals and case management as needed.
  • Attend required staff meetings, group and individual supervision meetings, in-service meetings, trainings, and community meetings as requested by the project coordinator &/or program director.
  • Provide other mental health services to children & families as part of the continuum of care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Info:
  • Some evening and weekends may be required.
  • On-site services may require traveling within the city of San Francisco via public transportation &/or driving own vehicle.

Required Educational level or Equivalent Experience:
  • At least Masters Degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or other related disciplines, required.
  • Knowledge of healthy child development, required.
  • Board of Behavioral Sciences registered or eligible to register, required.
  • Experience working with young children and their families.
  • Experience working with immigrant children 0-5 years old and their families, preferred.
  • Experience in child care settings, both center-based and family child care, highly recommended.
  • Experience in mental health consultation helpful.
  • Ability to provide bilingual services in fluent Cantonese or Cantonese/Mandarin or Spanish is highly preferred.

Other Job Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience and thorough knowledge of working with various populations with different income levels, ethnicities, and languages (this position works specifically with immigrant & minority children & their families, most of whom are of low socioeconomic status).
  • Understanding of the childcare culture & community.
  • Familiarity with community behavioral health systems of care in San Francisco, including the philosophy of care, levels of care for clinical services, and the delivery of such services, highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the San Francisco community resources/services (may include health, mental health, substance abuse, vocational, housing, etc), highly preferred.
  • Strong commitment to the philosophy, goals, & mission of RAMS in providing community-based, culturally competent, and consumer-guided mental health services to the community.
  • Commitment to engaging in professional development activities such as trainings, continuing education seminars, case conferences, and reviewing up-to-date material, etc., as related to treatment strategies for the population of Fu Yau.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and interact professionally with a diverse, multi-cultural, and interdisciplinary staff of all levels.
  • Ability to work and function independently, and as a team player of the Fu Yau project, and with the child care site assigned.
