Manager of Human Resources & Finance

Contra Costa Christian Schools seeks a dynamic and effective Manager of Human Resources & Finance to effectively manage procedures, communications, and record keeping.

Position Details
  • This is a full-time, 12 month exempt position
  • Reports to the Head of School

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in human resources or HR management, BA/BS degree in accounting, business, or other relevant degree.
  • Personal testimony and whole-hearted commitment to a fervent faith in Christ.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of increased leadership experience in a related role.
  • Demonstrated success in preparing, maintaining and implementing human resources procedures, documenting human resource issues etc.
  • Experience in managing human resource issues for non-profit organizations.
  • Supervisory experience is highly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of ability to work collaboratively and achieve success in a team setting.

Salary & Benefits

  • Range of $25-35/hour, 40 hours a week

Essential Duties for Human Resources:
  • Maintains, implements and enforces human resource policies and procedures.
  • Manage all aspects of the employment process including orientation and training new staff members.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School to ensure human resource issues are implemented according to the goals and priorities of the Head of School and Board of Directors.
  • Ensure best practices for employee hiring, and employee compliance with CCCS HR procedures.
  • Evaluate organizational policy and procedures related to employee handbook, staff relations, legal and regulatory authorities and other areas as assigned.
  • Work in collaboration with the administration to minimize liability risk.
  • Administer employee benefits and serve as the primary point of contact for our benefits partners.
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Essential Duties for Finance:
  • Maintains and reconciles checking, credit card, investments, and savings accounts for the general fund and capital campaign accounts, petty cash, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with the head of school to create a balanced budget according to the goals and priorities of the head of school and board of directors.
  • Ensure best practices for financial oversight, visibility, and accountability.
  • Utilize independent auditors or other qualified parties to conduct an annual review or audit of the schools finances.
  • Prepare and send budget reports for administration and department chairs on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries including workers compensation, payroll taxes etc.
  • Reconcile payroll monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts in collaboration with the head of school.
  • Evaluate organizational policy and procedures related to employee handbook, staff relations, legal and regulatory authorities and other areas as assigned.
  • Work in collaboration with the administration to minimize liability risk.
  • Administer employee benefits and serve as the primary point of contact for our benefits partners.
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
