Site Utility / Maintenance Operations
As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for supporting production packaging and processing operations, sanitation and participation in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.
Shift hours:
Monday - Friday
9 hours
12-hour shifts with 3-2-2 schedule
* Day Shift - 6:00 am to 6:07 pm
* Night Shift - 6:00 pm to 6:07 am
* Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
* Plant operation is 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
Pay:
* $30.87 per hour -

* Up to 15 days (120 hours) of vacation annually (depending on your schedule) and 8 paid company holidays
* After 6 months you will receive sick and emergency hours. Prorated based on time of service; after 1 year total of 48 hours

What your day will look like:

* Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts that record various aspects of the system's operations at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
* Adjust controls to ensure safe and efficient operation of the systems to meet the demands for the specified service.
* Perform inspections as necessary to verify that the designated facilities are functioning within condition limits for the purpose intended.
* Conduct water tests and make necessary adjustments to pumps, softeners, and controllers.
* Maintain a log in which various aspects of the system's operation are recorded, e.g., run time, system pressure, filter differential pressure, temperature, equipment status, water levels, voltage load
* Keep designated equipment and machinery in working order by performing such tasks as tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders and gauges, and cleaning and replacing burners or other components, using hand tools and power tools.
* Operate computer control system to accomplish specific tasks relating to building and equipment operation.
* Operate the plant boilers, air compressors, refrigeration units (Ammonia), chillers, cooling towers, water softeners and other utility systems in a safe manner.
* Monitor and maintain correct boiler chemistry.
* Maintain plant and pump station building and grounds.
* Assist with and provide support for the maintenance of the plant including installation, repairing, maintaining, set up, troubleshooting, and / or operating Plant Utility systems mentioned above.
* Maintain cleanliness of all areas of responsibility and proper care for tools.
* Lubricate motors and gearboxes as needed and when indicated by UE ultrasonic equipment.
* Other duties include maintaining daily operations, maintenance logs, title 5 inspection, SPCC inspections, Hazard waste inspections and other environmental duties.
What you have to offer:
* Must have a minimum of a high school diploma
* A two-year college degree is preferred
* Previous Utility plant experience
* Industrial maintenance experience and/or trade school is a plus
* Mechanical- electrical-electronic experiences a plus
* Possession of universal refrigerant certification is a plus
* Must obtain a wastewater certification within 6 months of employment.
* Must obtain an Entry Ammonia certification within 6 months of employment.
* Boiler license preferred
Physical requirements:
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
* Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
* Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
* Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
* Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
* Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
* Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
* Ability to operate complex gasoline, electric or diesel-powered machinery or shop equipment requiring manipulation of multiple controls, fine adjustments or both.
* Will require some movement of 55-gallon drums of chemicals using appropriate handling equipment.
* Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
