Until FilledSummer Extended School Year (ESY) staff will support one of these locations: Liberty Elementary School, Kenyon Woods Middle School or Bartlett High School.
  • Two days of professional development are required for summer school. Those dates are June 3, 2024 and June 4, 2024.
  • Summer School begins on June 5 and ends July 3. Summer school occurs Monday through Thursday with no school on June 19, 2024 to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday. Staff must be available on all days during the summer school sessions.
  • Summer staff is expected to be at school 15 minutes prior to the school day and 15 minutes after the school day concludes.
  • Staff hours: 7:45 am - 11:45 am
  • Student school day: 8:00 am - 11:30 am
  • ETA members will be paid the Instructional Rate

Function / Position Summary
To organize and maintain safe school operations through office management, communications and directed procedures.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Serve as secretary and provide administrative assistance to the ESY administrator.
  • Work collaboratively with building administrator, and ESY staff.
  • Communicate in a positive and effective manner with staff, administration, students, parents and/or visitors.
  • Oversee and be accountable for student registration and e-requisition ordering. 5. Answer telephone communications and record accurate messages.
  • Actively promote a positive school climate.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient office in collaboration with office staff. 8. Serve as bookkeeper.
  • Able to maintain financial documents at school and act as treasurer for the school. 10. Accurate record keeping and data collection that is completed with attention to detail. 11. Development and processing of student records.
  • Operate all office machines.
  • Maintain Workforce for staff members.
  • Promote strong school community relations.
  • Serve as staff timekeeper.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English written and verbal (preferred).
Experience / Knowledge
  • Three years of secretarial experience in an elementary school setting preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate his/her daily activities and schedule.
  • Ability to handle basic student health needs.
  • Ability to have strong, positive communication and interaction skills when dealing with co workers, students, administrators, parents and/or the community.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of computers and various word processing, database and spreadsheet programs.
  • Ability to use online student information systems (i.e. Infinite Campus).
  • Ability to remain calm under trying circumstances.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain various organizational systems needed at the school.
  • Ability to maintain efficient office procedures and a system for keeping track of requested actions and report.
  • Ability to meet timelines.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects or materials weighing up to 30 lbs. with proper technique.

  • Perform reception duties
  • Perform student attendance duties
  • Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills (parents, staff and students)
  • Responsible for tracking and balancing building/department expenditures (if applicable)
  • Working knowledge of computer program Word and Excel
  • Willingness to learn and become proficient in advanced applications and specialized computer programs (Mail Merge, Student Information Systems, Business Portal, etc.)
Classification C (Proficiently demonstrates all criteria listed, including classifications A and B)
  • Demonstrates appropriate decision making in support of or in absence of director or supervising administrator
  • Knowledge and ability to perform necessary tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the district level department/building
  • Proficient in specialized computer programs and applications
  • Responsible for creating and initiating written and verbal communication (community and district officials/representatives)
  • Responsible for maintaining director or supervising administrator calendar/schedule (if applicable)
  • Responsible for office management, environment, staff, finances (banking and financial software)
  • Ultimately responsible for coordination, organization, facilitation of district level department/building
