* Position Summary
* The Rehab Director is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Rehabilitation Department and the different product lines specific to the contract. This position is accountable for planning, organizing and directing the unit to ensure that quality patient care is provided and that the financial integrity of the unit is maintained. The Rehab Director ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as all MaineHealth Care policies and procedures, medical staff and those required by federal, state, and Joint Commission standards.

* The Rehab Director is responsible for creating an environment and culture that enables the department to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding set goals, conveying the unit and SMHC missions to all staff, holding staff accountable for their performance, motivating staff to improve performance and being responsible for the measurement, assessment and continuous improvement of the unit's performance.

* This position will support cultural diversity by ensuring that the delivery of quality, equitable and culturally competent patient-centered care is provided; promoting and maintain an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity; and ensuring that cultural diversity and sensitivity training is part of new employee orientation on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of the patient population served in the hospital.




* Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related healthcare field is preferred with equivalent work experience of a Master's Degree as demonstrated by such responsibilities as but not limited to accountability for hospital operations, budget development, analysis and oversight; marketing including volume growth/program development; FTE management; expense control; policy and procedure development and implementation; and process development to facilitate regulatory compliance.


* License/Certifications: Current Maine Licensure as required by the State.


* Experience: Minimum of five years of management experience in healthcare preferred. Minimum two years in Senior Management position preferred.
